Schedule
Inspire Children to Love Learning vs. Passing Grade

Daily Schedule

Our school environment is dedicated to nurturing a child's inherent curiosity by enabling children to explore and discover.

7:00 - 8:45 AM

Before School Program
As children arrive, the teacher personally greets them. Students may come in and great their friends or begin working independently with a variety of interactive material.

8:45 - 9:00 AM

Morning Snack
The circle time is an interactive part of the learning experience where children engage in a variety of discussions with the teacher and with other students. Calendar presentation, songs, stories and lessons are all part of this morning circle time.
Although English is our primary language for the center we at Galaxy Montessori offer a strong French program as a part of our curriculum. To eliminate any stress from learning a new language we have carefully staffed our school with one French native professional. This professional only interacts with children and parents in French. If a child has difficulty interacting we simply allocate our English professional until the child is ready. We also provide French reading materials to support our program.

11:00 - 11:45

Recess (Outdoor)
Healthy minds and bodies need time out in the fresh air and sunlight. Children’s social skills are developed through practicing cooperation, negotiation, and observation. Friendships are strengthened through play.
We at Galaxy Montessori strongly value physical activity as an essential daily requirement. Thus we have allocated a large space for indoor GYM within our world-class facility and two outdoor playgrounds. On cold winter days we reduce the outdoor time and increase indoor time to compensate.

11:45 - 12:30 PM

Lunch
Children will help the teachers set the table with, napkins and silverware. This promotes independence, interdependence and social grace thus creating a family atmosphere. Nurturing the spirit is every bit as important as stimulating the mind.

12:30 - 2:30 PM

Rest Period (Pre-Casa)
Montessori Work (Casa)
Children who require rest, will nap during this time. When they wake up they will continue with their Montessori work. Older children who do not require a nap will continue working on their Montessori material or may choose a quiet activity to work on.

2:30 - 3:15 PM

Afternoon Snack
Children will be free to take snacks from the snack table.

3:15 - 4:15 PM

Extra Curricular Activities
The foundation of Galaxy Montessori shines through its unique approach to extra curricular activities. Unlike other education centers, we believe that child should be educated with a professional in each field. The same as when parents expect that a Montessori trained or ECE licensed educator teach their child(ern) during normal activities. For example during our music program our teacher will usually be a separate staff with a professional music background typically from Ontario Music Conservatory. This critical step allows your child(ern) to learn to play the piano from a pianist rather than an ECE / Montessori teacher thus learning the fundamentals correctly.
In addition to Music we also have included a comprehensive education program as part of standard curriculum.

4:15 - 5:00 PM

5:00 - 6:00 PM

After School Program & Tutoring
At this time while some children will be getting ready to go home, others will be able to choose to work on Montessori activities or engage in group activities and free play.
